Deluxe Vs. Economy Prize Wheels
Differences and Which is Right for You?

ECONOMY      DELUXE

MAJOR DIFFERENCES

There are a few differences between our deluxe and economy prize wheels, which may not be immediately evident at a quick glance at each of the two different prize wheel product pages. Even at a distance, a "blind eye" might not be able to see the differences without closer inspection. We felt we needed to educate our customers about these differences, and allow you to make the choice between economy vs. deluxe prize wheels based on the needs of your company. Please take time to read the major differences and what they may mean to you:

  • Backing: Our deluxe prize wheels have a clear, more durable backing to withstand years of use. A more durable backing also ensures the deluxe prize wheels will hold up against the wear that can sometimes be a result of many setups and repacks. Our economy version has a much less durable backing that may not hold up as well as the deluxe model.

  • Finish: From a distance, the finish of both of the prize wheels looks very similar. However, upon closer inspection, you will see that the legs of the deluxe prize wheel feature a textured finish to better match that of the wheel itself; the prize wheel is made from ABS plastic, a light but ridgid material used to make molded products. The legs of the economy prize wheel, on the other hand, have a smooth, black-painted finish. Dust and small scratches can also be seen in the finish of the economy version as well.

  • Circular Rotation & Balance: The deluxe prize wheel is a "perfect" circle, with few to no flat spots. This results in a better circular rotation. The economy prize wheel, however, has more flat spots, which result in more of a counter-rotation; this means that when you spin the prize wheel, as the wheel begins to slow down to a stop, it will then counter-rotate. This is unlike the deluxe prize wheel, which has little to no counter-rotation.

  • "Clicker": The "clicker" on the deluxe prize wheel is made from a thicker, more pliable material, than the "clicker" on the economy prize wheel. The flexure point of the "clicker" on the deluxe prize wheel is near the center of the flat extension to allow it to bend easier when passing over the prize wheel pegs. This ensures the clicker will withstand many uses without breaking. The "clicker" on the economy prize wheels is made from a stiffer material, with its flexure point just above the point of the "clicker". As a result of the position of the flexure point, normal bending on the "clicker" from the economy model causes discoloration, which is an indication of stress damage.

  • Center Disc: The center disc on the deluxe prize wheel mounts into position safely and securely with ease. The center disc from the economy model, on the other hand, is rather difficult to put into place.

  • Designing Prize Inserts: We provide our deluxe prize wheel with printing template software for you to easily pring your prize inserts. With this software, you can easily design and print your inserts in seconds! The economy prize wheels do not come with printing template software. However, we do provide the economy prize wheels with a blank insert template in PDF form for you to create your own inserts on your computer by filling in the empty template.

Which Style Is Right For Your Business?

When it comes to deciding whether an economy or upscale product is right for you, there are two major points to consider:

  • Appearance- What environment will this product be used in? If your business or company uses a prize wheel frequently, you'll want a product that will withstand frequent use without breaking or faltering. In this case, the deluxe prize wheel might be the product to best suit your needs. As previously mentioned, the economy and deluxe prize wheels both look very similar from a distance, and have the same functionality. Both versions convert from floorstanding units to countertop units, and both allow you to easily insert your prizes into the slots of the prize wheel.

  • Price- Despite the differences in quality, if your company doesn't use a prize wheel as frequently, the economy version might be best for your needs. If you need an economically-priced prize wheel, our economy model is ideal for you.
