Upscale Vs. Economy Luggage Carts
Differences and Which is Right for You?

MAJOR DIFFERENCES

There are a few differences between upscale and economy luggage carts, the largest being the material they are composed of and its appearance. Please take time to read the major differences and what they mean to you:

  • Composition & Finish:Displays manufactured in metal are available in a number of finishes and vary greatly in appearance. We sell products that are available in a number of gold and silver finishes, including displays constructed from actual true brass (luxury line) and those made from aluminum with a titanium gold plating (economy line), as well as true stainless steel and chrome plated aluminum.

Products made of true brass have a shiny, luxurious appearance and warm, reddish color that looks great in upscale environments. True stainless steel products are sleek looking, with a warm, silver color.Unfortunately, in recent years, the increase in industrial demand for copper and stainless steel throughout the world has caused the price to rise dramatically. Because of this, real brass and stainless steel products are also subject to a price increase. So while they are of a very high quality, these display products are also more expensive.

Titanium gold and chrome plating are applied to bellmans carts to give them the appearance of either brass or stainless steel. The resulting color is not the same as real brass or steel, and is duller in appearance, as you can see to the right. These economy finishes cost anywhere from 1/3 to 2/3 less than their upscale counterparts. Some customers will want high quality displays constructed of actual brass or stainless steel, while many will not care about the differences. Depending on the quality or price you are looking for, we are sure to have the right products for you.

  • Carpeting: The carpeting of the upscale models is very plush and rich in color. Carpeting on the economy luggage racks is duller, but still attractive. This carpeting is also much thinner, but still looks nice and serves its purpose.

  • Welding/Contact Points:Contact points on upscale luggage carts have smoother welds, many with no visible lines or traces of welding. The economy luggage carts are traditionally welded and contact points are visible.

  • Overall Design & Construction: The upscale bellman's carts are more ornate with a more detailed construction and fancier detailing. Economy bellman's carts are simple, without any ornate detailing.

  • Which Style Is Right For Your Business?

When it comes to deciding whether an economy or upscale product is right for you, there are two major points to consider:

  • Appearance- What environment will this product be used in? Real brass and stainless steel displays with more detailed construction are much nicer looking, and are therefore better suited for upscale businesses. Gold or chrome plated products, on the other hand, are perfectly suitable for less fancy establishments. See images below to view the differences.

  • Price- As previously mentioned, real brass and stainless steel products are much more expensive than gold plated products. The high price to pay might not be worth it for businesses that don't require the highest quality products. Gold or chrome plated products with less intricate detailing and construction are much cheaper and will look just fine in most environments.
