Very sturdy ... this is exactly what I needed for diplaying my antique cast iron bank collection. These risers can be adjusted to fit pretty much any where. So I bought two black sets, and they are beautiful and sturdy; I used #s 5, 3 and 1 for displaying banks, and then from the same set I used #s 4 and 2 to display some beautiful rock specimens I have collected over the years. I LOVE 'EM!
