Sketching Easels for Dry Medium Artwork
Many artists prefer to perform their high quality freehand work on a supportive sketching easel, especially if table-space is limited or they want to avoid potential distortion errors that can happen while drawing flat. While most think of easels as being solely for art requiring brushwork, these easels can be used for a variety of dry mediums, including pencil, graphite, charcoal, and pastel. Use a sketching easel to stand while creating your art to promote good posture and active work habits. And when you're finished, the piece can easily be displayed on the sketch art stand for everyone to see.
Consider how and where you are going to be using an art stand. Will you frequently be relocating it between home, the studio, and the field? If so, you may want to consider a tripod design. If the easel will mostly be stationary, an H-Frame design with wheels and extra storage space may be preferable. Whatever you decide, the sketching easel is sure to become the backbone of your next masterpiece!
