missing a clip and without instructions

One of the clips was missing to hold the two pieces of glass together. Also, there were not any instructions included and it was almost impossible to put the pieces together. It turns out that I was trying to put a piece of needlework in there and it does not fit with the current clips especially in light of one missing. Not sure what the next step is.
