This is a really lovely board and probably perfect for writing on. I mainly purchased to use the magnets, so do be advised, you need a really strong magnet for it. It's very slick and magnets that are not strong enough will slide down. Also, best to place something behind it, so it does not flex when writing on. It comes packaged with some foam inserts, and those work perfectly to reduce flex. I bought the largest size. They seemed to fix the hardware issue, because my hardware is just fine, although I would recommend a longer screw due to the weight.
