I bought this unit to display paintings at an outdoor, plein air art festival. Honestly, I really wanted the unit that came as a "Y" set-up but it was out of stock. So, I also bought a separate 1-leg support, cut if off it's base, and welded it to the 2-leg support in order to create the 3-leg support needed to create the "Y" shape. Easy enough to do and it looked great. I wound up using it in a "U" shape this first time. It supported all my art well and had several other artists wishing they had one. I passed on the purchase info to everyone who asked. My granddaughter loved it too. She helped set it up. It was that easy. Bottom line, it worked out great.
