Our business uses this without the shelf as a place for a Slim Jim style trash can inside and the top shelf for tray return or a bus tub. All the other trash stations we found take up much more space. This is the third one purchased and it is used with 2 slim trash cans side by side, regular and recycling (they protrude out a bit), using the top shelf for empty pizza box return. The wheels make easy to relocate or clean underneath. We just started using a previously purchased one with the shelf as a server station.
