Due to high shipping costs to deliver to the Firehouse Gallery on the Big Island of Hawaii, we elected to have the shelves delivered to a friend’s home on the mainland. The 6 boxes will be transported to the Big Island, 2 boxes at a time, as checked luggage when gallery members return from trips to Washington state. We hope to have all boxes available for installation by November of this year. The Waimea Arts Council, a nonprofit organization, chose to postpone receiving the shelves in order to save $300 in shipping costs. We are lucky to live in a beautiful part of the world. Shipping bulky items to us is always costly.
